Karthika Nair, daughter of yesteryear’s successful heroine Radha, has made a grand and successful debut in ‘Ko’. The film, directed by K.V. Anand, pitted Karthika opposite the talented Jiiva. While Jiiva played a photo-journalist in the film, Karthika played a normal scribe. The film’s phenomenal success has given Karthika the much-needed ‘perfect platform’ in Kollywood.
The slim Karthika, who did rather well in ‘Ko’ in terms of emoting as well as dancing, has become the hot faourite of the public and the print media. Her statement that she is ‘ready’ to go glamourous provided the script demands so has only made her more popular among the producers and directors who might want to sign her up in future.
Radha, a very successful heroine throughout the eighties, is keen to help her daughter out. The roles and the characters that Karthika would be doing would be Radha’s whole prerogative, it is learnt. Thanks to the rousing success of ‘Ko’, Karthika has been flooded with many film offers in Tamil and she is taking her own time to decide as to which ones to take up and which ones to reject.
“I would love Karthika to play roles that are very different from the run-of-the-mill stuff,” says Radha. Karthika’s success has given jitters to Hansika Motwani, who has made quite an impression in the minds of Tamil audience with back-to-back films in ‘Maappillai’ and ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’ and has a couple of big projects in her kitty.
Tamannaah, Hansika and Amala Paul are equally worried about Karthika’s grand entry, it is reported.
