Karan sets conditions to dub for his film

After doing character roles and roles parallel to the hero for more than fifteen years,  actor Karan decided to turn a solo hero (?!) with the film ‘Kokki’ which released 4 years back. He followed it up with ‘Karuppasami Kuthagaidharar’ and a few other films which didn’t scorch the box-office and ended up as losing prepositions.

Karan’s latest release ‘Kanagavel Kakka’, which released late last year, turned out to be a dud too. The actor is, therefore, under pressure to deliver a hit with his next venture, said to be ‘Sooran’ which might be followed by ‘Thambi Vettothi Sundaram’. Though the shooting of ‘Sooran’ is over, the film is reportedly not getting released as Karan hasn’t yet completed his dubbing portion.

‘Sooran’, which is jointly produced by ten friends with a share of Rs.20 lakhs each, has reportedly overshot its original estimate of Rs.2 crores as the expenses till date has touched a whopping Rs.4 crores. Karan, who was reportedly signed up to play the lead role for a fee of Rs.55 lakhs, has so far been paid Rs.45 lakhs.

Karan is said to be demanding the balance of Rs.10 lakhs from the producers as he is adamant that unless he is paid the full amount as per the agreement, he won’t come to complete his dubbing portion. The producers,  fed up Karan’s tantrums, have reportedly come to the conclusion that they would rather wait than to release the movie sooner.
