Actor Kamal Haasan had recently expressed his desire to remake the Malayalam hit film ‘Traffic’ in Tamil. Though the plans are still there, he appears to have made a small ‘change’ in it. He would first complete the film ‘Viswaroopam’, which would be directed by Selvaraghavan, before starting work on the remake of ‘Traffic’.
The film ‘Viswaroopam’ was to be launched at least a month back but got stuck as the director and the crew were denied visa to go to US by its embassy in Chennai. As such, Selvaa and Kamal had no option but to abandon the idea of shooting the film entirely in the U.S. and instead applied to the Canadian embassy for visa to shoot in Canada.
As the visa to visit Canada has been granted in quick-time, Kamal has apparently decided to first concentrate on ‘Viswaroopam’ before indulging in the Tamil remake of ‘Traffic’. Rajesh Pillai, who directed ‘Traffic’ in Malayalam and would also be directing the Tamil version, has confirmed this and said that the moment Kamal finishes ‘Viswaroopam’, the remake version would be kicked off.
Bollywood’s Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of veteran Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha, would be debuting in Tamil films as heroine opposite Kamal Haasan in ‘Viswaroopam’. The film would have music by the trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The shooting is expected to commence in the first week of June.
