Actor Ajith’s upcoming film ‘Mankatha’ would be his landmark 50th film in a career spanning more than one-and-a-half decades. The film, a multi-starrer with a huge star cast, would be released worldwide on the 30th of this month, it was informed by Venkat Prabhu, the director of the film.
Along with Ajith, the film’s huge star cast comprises ‘action king’ Arjun, Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Andrea Jermaiah, Anjali and Bollywood’s Kainaat Arora. Venkat Prabhu announced the date of release of the film, awaited with huge expectations and bated breath by Ajith’s fans, at a recent press meet held on the eve of the release of the film’s audio.
The sales of the audio-cassettes and CDs of the film have been extremely encouraging, it is said. The craze among the public to go for the film’s songs is being compared to the euphoria found among the people on the eve of release of superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Enthiran: The Robot’ by trade circles.
Talking about the film, Prabhu said “Ajith plays a ‘bad man’ in the film whose script is based on the betting menace that’s been tearing the game apart. We have also added motor cycle race, one of the favourites of Ajith. For the first time in Tamil films, Ajith has donned a ‘natural’ gray-haired get-up which only Hollywood actors do with courage in English films.
“Yuvan’s music has already become quite a rage. The film, which has come out very well, would be released on 30th August. ‘Action King’ Arjun was gracious enough to agree to do a prominent role in the film, though he was fully aware that it would be a film were Ajith’s character would be getting most of the footage,” concludes Venkat Prabhu.
