Actress Hansika reportedly refused the offer to dance for an ‘item number’ in actor Vikram’s upcoming film titled Rajapattai. After mesmerizing the audience through his amazing portrayal of a mentally challenged person in his last outing in Deivathirumagal, Vikram is back as a commercial hero and is starring in a couple of films which have action-based and entertaining scripts.
Karikaalan and Rajapattai are the films that have been signed by Vikam immediately after the release of Deivathirumagal apparently to cater to the needs of his fans who want to see him in action-packed roles like the ones in Anniyan and Sami. Vikram sure knows a thing or two about the knack of straddling the twin horses of commercial cinema and off-beat cinema in a successful manner.
Rajapattai pairs him opposite Telugu hottie Deeksha Seth for whom it would be a dream debut in Tamil opposite an established and leading star like Vikram. The promotional still photographs of the film showing Vikram and Deeksha have already aroused expectations from Vikram’s fans to watch them on-screen together. The film is being directed by Suseenthiran, who has built up a reputation for himself in a short period.
Suseendhiran reportedly approached Hansika, who plays one of Vijay’s two heroines in his upcoming Deepavali release Velayudham, to dance for an ‘item number’ in Rajapattai. Though she was offered a ‘hefty sum’ (said to be in the region of Re.1 corre!), Hansika refused the offer saying that she wasn’t ready to do the ‘item number’ irrespective of the money offered to her.
“I’m here to earn name as an actress and not as a glamourous star,” was Hansika’s reported reply to the ‘item song’ offer.
