Actress Hansika is eagerly awaiting this year’s Deepavali for more reasons than one. The festival being the most-celebrated one across the country, it also marks Hansika’s first ‘Deepavali release’ in the form of Velayudham in which she has paired up opposite Vijay for the first time. She, however, has to share screens pace with another heroine in the film in the form of Genelia D’Souza.
Despite press reports saying that Genelia and Hansika were at loggerheads during the making of the film, Hansika denies that there was any misunderstanding between them during the shoot. “Both of us are professional actresses and went about our job as instructed by director Raja; that was all,” states Hansika, who is a good Samaritan who goes out voluntarily to help others.
She concedes that she is mighty excited about to be part of the Deepavali race. She has also been signed up by Simbu as his heroine in the upcoming film Vettai Mannan in which Hansika reportedly plays a ‘female don’(!!!). Talking about her role in the film, Hansika says “I loved the script of Vettai Mannan which was narrated to me and I immediately agreed to star in it.
“I also have a Telugu film opposite Siddharth which also has Shruti Haasan as the other heroine. I won’t like to enter into a debate as to whether my role is a ‘bigger’ one or Shruti’s. As far as I’m concerned, I have a good role and I would like to maintain a good rapport with all my co-stars,” says Hansika.
Her Oru Kal Oru Kannadi opposite Udhayanidhi is likely to be released by the year-end.
