Close on the heels of leggy lass Anushka, who endorses the products of ‘The Chennai Silks’, Kollywood’s new sensation Hansika Motwani has also been signed up to endorse its products and to popularize the textile showroom. Of late, actresses appear to be vying with each other (albeit unofficially) to star in as many commercials as possible to earn quick money as well as getting the much-needed publicity.
Actresses Trisha, Nayantara, Asin, Tamannaah and Anushka have been endorsing some top textile stores in the city. Though their fee for the same remains a secret till now, it is estimated that they must have raked in huge sums of money for endorsing the products of these textile stores.
Though Hansika’s debut film ‘Maappillai’ opposite Dhanush and her ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’ opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi were only average grossers at the box-office, the actress’ popularity is quite high among movie-goers and youths in particular. She has a couple of big releases coming up in ‘Velayudham’ opposite Vijay and ‘Oru Kal Oru Kannadi’ opposite Udhayanidhi.
Hansika’s elevation as a commercially viable artiste has got a fillip by her bagging the deal to endorse ‘Chennai Silks’ for their Aadi season special ad promotions. She is likely to be paid Rs.50 lakh for the photo-shoot lasting at the most a week during when videos and still photos would be shot. Ironically, the fee is at least twice what she gets to star in a film, whose shooting takes somewhere between 3-5 months to complete!
