Of all the actresses in Kollywood, bubbly Hansika appears to be the one who speaks out her mind without holding anything back. The 3-film old actress has said something which even veteran actresses refuse to state publicly. Hansika has revealed that she is indeed interested in politics but has added that she can’t state for now as to whether or not she would take the ‘political plunge’ in the near future.
After debuting in Kollywood as heroine this year with Maappillai opposite Dhanush, Hansika followed it up with Engeyum Kaadhal opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi. She had a major release on Deepavali in the form of Vijay’s Velayudham. One of the most sought-after young heroines, she sure has many films in her kitty. This need not necessarily mean that her popularity is so overwhelming that people might consider as a ‘politician’.
In between her shooting schedules, Hansika has appeared for the final semester exams of her graduation of Political Science. Now that her dream of becoming a graduate is over (academically, though as she is expecting the results), she has decided to concentrate on films. She has Orul Kal Oru Kannadi (OKOK) opposite producer Udhayanidhi which is likely to be her next major release.
As Hansika doesn’t mind indulging in skin show, she has a great market awaiting her in Telugu films. Speaking recently in a casual manner, Hansika said “I’ve just completed my degree in political science which would make me absolutely free to concentrate in a full-fledged manner in Tamil and Telugu films. I would, however, have the liberty to pick and choose my roles and won’t go on a signing spree.
“Studying political science has of course made me get interested in politics… I have been keenly observing the political scenario in the State in particular and in the country in general. At present, though, I can’t say whether or not I’d take the plunge into politics. Nobody knows what the future beholds for them,” concludes Hansika.
