The buzz in Kollywood circles is that actor Jiiva could latch on to something big in his next film. The actor is on a roll with successive hits in ‘Singam Puli’ and ‘Ko’. Success courts success, they say and an ‘unofficial competition’ has already got underway in Kollywood to decide as to who would be directing Jiiva’s new film.
Jiiva’s next release would be ‘Rowthiram’ in all probability. The film pairs Jiiva opposite the ‘hot’ Shriya Saran for the first time and is directed newcomer Gokul. After this film, Jiiva is about to commit himself to any new film. Reports say that Jiiva met a couple of high-profile directors in the past week in S.P. Jananathan and Gautham Vasudev Menon, apparently to discuss scripts with them.
Jiiva’s fans are hopeful that the actor would be directed by Gautham, who gave Simbu an ‘image’ acceptable to people from all the sections of the community with his romantic hit ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’, in his upcoming film. Gautham is in a need to deliver a hit film as his last film ‘Nadunisi Naaygal’ didn’t do as well at the box-office.
Gautham was said to be having a script ‘ready’ for which he reportedly wanted Suriya to play the lead but the actor’s call sheet is not likely to be free till the next one year or so. It is in this backdrop that Jiiva’s fans are hopeful that Gautham might zero in on Jiiva, who has proved his acting credentials time and again with films like ‘Dishyum’, ‘Raam’, ‘Ee’, etc.
We can’t wait to have the combo of Menon and Jiiva, can we?
