Director Bharathiraja, who emerged victorious in the elections to the Directors’ Association held recently, is said to have been ‘hurt’ a lot by the opposition shown initially by the likes of Cheran and Ameer to his candidature as the head. In a recent interview to a popular regional weekly, Bharathiraja has vented out his anger on the duo in plain terms.
Immediately after the issue was out, the trio of Bharathiraja, Ameer and Cheran had to come face-to-face with each other at the audio launch of the film ‘Vaagai Sooda Vaa’. The audio-launch was presided over by Bharathiraja in which Ameer and Cheran took part. The media expected some fireworks to fly.
Speaking first, Ameer said that “We had all been impressed by Bharathiraja and were inspired by him to a great deal; only because of that, we made it to the industry. If we can get inspired by his film-making capabilities, don’t we have the right to ‘adapt’ his anger too?”
Bharathiraja, when he spoke, said “I don’t’ usually attend many functions. Even if I attend, I don’t talk much. Thanks for everything.” The ace director’s brief speech must have upset the many scribes who gathered at the venue!
