It now turns out that Superstar Rajinikanth got hospitalized last week at a Chennai hospital mainly because of his ‘untiring’ efforts which resulted in his drastic weight loss (of 15-20 kilos) in order to make him fit for one of his roles in his upcoming film ‘Rana’, a period film directed by K.S. Ravikumar. The film, which was launched in the city almost two weeks ago, has Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone, Tabu and Tollywood’s Ileana opposite him in his triple roles.
Rajini has always been looked up by his fans and the public as someone who is ‘extremely fit’ and ‘healthy’ despite his known habits of smoking (too much) and having liquor at will. Sources close to him say that Rajini, who lost 15-20 kilos for a role in ‘Rana’, was on liquid diet for some months and underwent rigorous yoga exercises which took a heavy toll on his health.
The rigorous diet did pose some minor health hazards which Rajini didn’t take seriously and neglected, Rajini’s elder brother Sathyanarayana Rao has said. “After all those dieting and exercising, he went to shoot for the film without proper rest and therefore fell ill. Now, he has completely recovered and there’s nothing to worry,” assures Rao.
Come on Rajini, get into the shooting mode at the earliest!
