‘Comeback queen’ Nayantara demands Rs.1.5 crore?

Nayantara demands 1.5 Crore

We reported a few days back that actress Nayantara was all set to make her ‘comeback’ in films thereby coming out of her self-imposed hiatus which lasted a few months. Said to be madly in love with Prabhu Deva, Nayantara was expected to marry him and settled into matrimony this year. The actress’ last release was the Telugu flick Sri Raamarajyam which turned out to be a hit venture at the box-office.

Around September last year, Nayan bid a ‘teary’ farewell to films on the last day of the shoot of the above-said film. She reportedly gifted all the crew members a wrist-watch each. It was assumed by the media that she would marry Prabhu Deva by the end of the last year or in January this year and would become a perfect ‘house-wife’. As it turned out, it hasn’t happened.

Apparently irked by Prabhu Deva’s delay in finalizing their marriage, Nayan has decided that she’s had enough and made known her intention that she would love to work in films again. For the past few months, she had been sending back all the producers and directors who had been visiting her with a hope that she’d take up their film offers. She has now gone ahead and signed up a Telugu film opposite Nagarjuna.

To be directed by Dasarath, the film is a mega-budget film. Nayan has reportedly demanded and got a whopping Rs.1.5 crore as her fee to star in the film. The huge amount paid to Nayantara hasn’t gone down well with many of her contemporaries (and competitors) in Tollywood who are fuming as to why should such a huge sum be paid to an actress who quits and comes back into films in no time!

Even some of the top actresses haven’t been paid this much for a film. Notwithstanding her fee for the film, we can only wish Nayan good luck on her ‘second innings’ in films!
