Actress Anjali, whose role as a salesgirl in a mall in last year’s ‘Angaadi Theru’ made waves among critics as well as cine-goers. But Anjali was one of the very few actresses who signed up the film even if her opposite was a newcomer. If it was opposite Mahesh in ‘Angaadi Theru’, Anjali followed it up with Aaree in ‘Rettaichuzhi’ and Kalanjiyam in ‘Magizchi’.
Latest reports emanating from Kollywood, however, suggest that the Andra Pradesh-born Anjali has decided not to team up with newcomers anymore in her future films. The talented Anjali, who debuted in Tamil films with a powerful role in ‘Katradu Tamizh’ a few years back, would be taking up films only opposite top stars, it is reliably learnt.
‘Angaadi Theru’ identified the actress in Anjali, with filmmakers marking her as an actress who is quite capable of handling anything from a light to a heavy role. In her upcoming film ‘Maharaaja’ directed by Manohar, Anjali would be seen in a glamourous role opposite (another) newcomer Sathyaa. Anjali is said to be making serious efforts to sustain the name and fame she earned through ‘Angaadi..’
The films which are currently releasing’ were the ones committed by Anjali even before the completion of the Angadi theru project , and she’s working over time to finish off those films. As these films appear to be doing no good for her standing as an actress in the industry. Now that she has finished off those commitments, she is raring to go in her effort to reach the top.
“My fans can look forward to a very new ‘Anjali’ in the new year (2011)…I shall ensure that the roles I take up have scope for acting as well as moments of glamour in the absense of vulgar in it. I feel that an actress has also to star opposite top heroes to reach the top,” says Anjali.
We wish you good luck for the year ahead with the expection of Angadi Theru alike performance!
