Actress Amala Paul has been having a jolly good time out there in Kollywood. The actress, who starred in two insignificant films, hit big time with her amazing performance in director Prabhu Solomon’s Mynaa which released in the second half of 2010. The film sky-rocketed Amala’s star value and she followed it up with another neat portrayal in last year’s Vikram-Anushka starrer Deivathirumagal.
She also was the original choice for Dhanush’s 3 directed by his wife Aishwarya but for some reasons, she walked out of it and Shruti Haasan stepped in. Amala now has a big release coming up in the form of Vettai which releases this weekend during Pongal holidays. The film, which stars Maddy, Aarya and Sameera Reddy as Amala’s co-stars, has been directed by Lingusamy.
Amala, who is mostly spotted with a heavily made-up face, appears to be the flavour of the season in Kollywood as most film-makers seem to have her as heroine or one of the heroines in their films. Analysts point out that barring Mynaa, Amala hasn’t done enough to confirm or justify her star-status. Still, she sure knows a thing or two about how to make ‘hay while the Sun shines’ on her side!
It is rumoured that she might pair up opposite Ajith in director Vishnuvardhan’s next film. Anushka, her co-star in Deivathirumagal, is also in the reckoning to play the heroine in this film which goes to the floors in March.
Meanwhile, it is stated that Amala has agreed to play sister-in-law of Mahesh Babu, one of the leading heroes in Tollywood, in a new Telugu film.Previously makers had approached many leading heroine’s like Anushka Shetty, Trisha, Sneha, but they rejected the offer since they have an issue playing Mahesh Babu’s sister-in-law.
The fact that she was offered a sum ‘close to 1K’ made her accept this role, sources close to the actress say! After all, doesn’t money make many things happen?
