Ajith’s Billa-2 to hit the screens on 8th June?



The pre-release publicity in the form of its theatrical trailer and a few stills from the film has kept the interest alive among Ajith’s fans about the star’s upcoming film Billa-2. The film is eagerly awaited by the fans especially after news and photographs about Ajith’s daredevil helicopter-borne stunt sequences hit the Internet and journals in the print media.

Directed by Chakri Toleti of Unnaipol Oruvan fame, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and has beauty queen Parvathy Omanakuttan pairing up opposite Ajith in her debut avatar as heroine. Brazilian beauty Bruna Abdullah is also playing a significant role in the film which is a sequel to Ajith’s 2007 mega-hit film Billa. The film has already been reportedly sold in many areas for its theatrical release and distribution for a record price of 40 crore.

Produced by Sunil Khetarpal’s In Entertainment, the film’s release and distribution rights have been acquired by Ravichandran of Ascar Movies. The talk among the film’s distributors points to the possibility of the film hitting the screens on 8th June. Ajith’s fans badly wanted the movie to hit the screens on 1st May on the eve of Ajith’s birthday but it got postponed for a variety of reasons.

Another trailer of the film is likely to be released next week in order to increase the element of curiosity among the fans and movie-goers about what the film has in store for them. The film is expected to go to the Censors for vetting next week after which its release date might be announced officially.
