If things go according to plan, then actors Suriya and Ajith might be heading for a box-office clash in July. Shooting of Suriya’s ‘7am Arivu’ and Ajith’s ‘Mankatha‘ are in the final stages and are likely to be released in the second half of July.
Actor Ajith is said to have finally wrapped up the shooting schedule of his upcoming landmark 50th film ‘Mankatha’.
The film, which has been directed by Venkatprabhu, would see Ajith romancing a bevy of beauties in Trisha, Lakshmi Rai and Bollywood’s ‘item girl’ Kainaat Arora. The film also has Anjali (of ‘Angaadi Theru’ fame) playing a significant role opposite Vaibhav. ‘Action King’ Arjun and Andrea Jermaiah are also part of the huge star-cast in the film.
‘Mankatha’ was planned to be released on 1st May, the ‘International Labour Day’, which also happens to be the birthday of Ajith.
Due to some unavoidable reasons, it didn’t happen and the makers are now aiming for a mid-July release. Ajith’s 50th film would also be Trisha’s 40th film in a career spanning close to a decade. Venkatprabhu denies that the film is about betting on ‘matches’ but says betting is ‘part’ of the film’s script.
Actor Suriya is also on the verge of completing the final schedule of shooting for his ‘7am Arivu’ directed by A.R. Murugadoss. The film incidentally marks the talented and beautiful Shruti Haasan’s debut in Tamil movies as heroine. With Murugadoss, who gave Suriya one of his biggest hits with ‘Ghajini’, at the helm of affairs, the film is expected to do well.
For starters, among the three roles he performs in the film, Suriya plays the role of a circus artiste.
Let’s cheer for both Ajith and Suriya to succeed on the D-Day!
