It’s been almost 2 years, as memories of man from Chennai standing at the famed Hollywood Kodak Theater welcome you in all glory. Rahman had arrived, and the international arena took notice of a wizard. He had captivated just a small part of the map, and boy did he know it was all coming together.
Today January 6th Isai Puyal AR Rahman, celebrates his birthday with a million fans world over and it couldn’t have come at a busier time for the composer. It’s a special day for Rahman for not just turning 46, as this year it also marks the release of one of his most special albums till date in the Ek Deewana Tha album (Hindi Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya). The year gone by was definitely a Rockstar year for the man, who went on to launch his international power group Super Heavy. Collaborating with Rock and Roll icon Mick Jagger and Bob Marley Jr., Rahman sprung up another favorite with his Hollywood friends in the track Satyameva Jayate. The year also saw the composer delivering a stone hard performance with Michael Jackson’s guitarist Orianthi in his Bollywood release Rockstar, as he gifted fans with a pulsating youth anthem in Sadda Haq. He will kick start the New year with his next Bollywood release in Gautham Menon’ Hindi VTV remake and follow it with 4 big projects in Mani Ratnam’s Pookkadai,Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan another Gautham Menon project in Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru and of course there is the Steven Spielberg release Welcome to People.The composer will soon go on an all India tour titled ‘Classic Incantations’ with the German Babelsberg Orchestra who will befittingly celebrate the genius that he is on the very month of his Birthday.
