Suriya’s 7aam Arivu has strongly planted a record 200 halls in Chennai alone, and the fact that it will face shoulder to shoulder competition from Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Velayudham can not be ignored. Already Simbu’s Osthi and Dhanush’s Mayakkam Enna have safely placed their bets post the Diwali season.
With theater owners calling for the shots the joint decision (from Simbu and Dhanush) could be considered a sensible one keeping in mind the 2 biggies – 7am Arivu and Velayudham beating it out in a head-to-head battle. Howsoever with Thalaivar Rajinikanth’s surprise flight to Mumbai appearing in a cameo for Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One has come as some surprise for others, as it will strongly influence the choice of screening the movies due to the Rajini factor. While Velayudham is yet to fix up screens director Jayam Raja is still holding things cool (7aam Arivu promotions are in full swing and even the theaters have been listed out )The Velayudham director says, “Vijay’s Velayudham will undergo a final screening on the 17th of this month, only after which be any further announcements be made.” Apart from that there was some other good news for Vijay fans as father SA Chandrasekaran, has been elected the President for the Tamil Film Producers Council.
We will update you on the latest Velayudham news here at Kollytalk but for the moment it seems the wait is worth it.
