That Prashanth’s much hyped Ponnar Shankar had bit the dust is now a thing if the past. The actor, who is determined to revive his career, has moved ahead. He is now concentrating with lot of hopes on his forthcoming venture Mambattiyan, a remake of ‘Malaiyur Mambattiyan’, one of his father’s super-hit films in the eighties.
To add pep to the build up to the movie, the young super star Simbu has been roped in to sing a song. He has sung a re-mix song in Mambattiyan. The song in question ‘Kaattu Vazhi Pora Ponnae…’ was sung by ‘Maestro’ Ilaiyaraaja in the original and is still a super-duper hit song. Directed again by Thiagarajan, the song is said to have come out well.
Prashanth, who debuted as a teenaged hero in the early nineties, hasn’t had a significant hit in the last few years. His latest movie ‘Ponnar Shankar, produced and directed by his father and which had Kalaignar’s dialogues, failed to make any impact at the box-office. Prashanth is now badly in need of a hit to stay in the industry. He is pinning all his hopes in Mambattiyan. While Prashanth plays Thiyagarajan’s role, Meera Jasmine plays Saritha’s role in the original.
Will Prashath, the star who gave many hits in the past, hit the bull’s eye? Let us see.
