Actor Ajith is surely very different from many of his contemporaries. The actor had the guts to disband and dissolve the many thousands of fans’ clubs operating in his name all over the State early this year. Actors patronize fan’s clubs in a big way and no actor would dare attempting to disband or dissolve the fans’ club especially just prior to the theatrical release of one of the significant films in his career.
A few weeks prior to the release of his landmark 50th film Mankatha, Ajith did just that and asked all his fans to concentrate in their respective careers in order to keep themselves and their family happy. Despite the not-so-active involvement of the disbanded fans’ clubs on the eve of release of the film, Mankatha witnessed one of the huge ‘openings’ seen ever at the box-office, the kind of response usually reserved for Rajini’s films.
Ajith’s decision to disband the fans’ clubs was probably prompted by the action of some of his over-eager fans who started raising the ‘enter politics’ slogan quite too often. When the request reached a crescendo, Ajith decided he had had enough and went ahead with his decision to make the fans’ clubs non-functional. Now that Mankatha has been declared a super-hit, there is demand from his fans, egged on by the producer, to celebrate the film’s success.
Producer Dayanidhi’s Twitter message that as Ajith doesn’t take part in any public functions, it won’t be appropriate to celebrate the 100th day function of Mankatha without his presence has egged on Ajith’s fans to impress upon their Thala the need to hold the function in his presence. Dayanidhi has further said that he was happy to have been the producer of Ajith’s most successful film as on date.
He has added that the would be ready to host the function if the fans promised Ajith’s participation in the same. This has encouraged the fans to once again visit their star’s house to request him to attend the function.
