As the negotiations between Eros International and Thirupathi Brothers have become increasingly hopeless, the film’s release on September 17th for the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival is quite uncertain now.
Sources say Lingusamy owes Rs. 90 crores to Eros International including the interest amount, which has multiplied since the release of Kamal Haasan’s Uttama Villain.
They have sold the distribution rights of Rajini Murugan in Tamil Nadu to Vendhar Movies for Rs. 35 crores. Lingusamy has repaid popular distributor Madurai Anbu with this money and is now struggling to repay Eros and Gnanavelraja of Studio Green, who also extended his helping hands on the eve of Uttama Villain release.
