Comedian Vivek plays the lead role in an upcoming film titled Palakkattu Madhavan (PM). The film is produced by Basheer Guruvanna on behalf of his ABC Dreams Entertainment. Chandramohan has penned the story and has also directed the film which has Sonia Aggarwal, ‘Chemeen’ Sheela and M.S. Baskar essaying prominent roles in it. Ajmal Azeez has scored the film’s music.
A ‘meet-the-press’ event was organized in the premises of Prasad Labs in the city to introduce the film and its crew to the press. Speaking at the event, Vivek said “Usually, only actresses above 50 or 60 are paired up opposite comedians. When I heard that Sheela was part of the cast, I though I’m paired opposite her. It was only later that I came to know that Sonia Aggarwal has been paired up opposite me.
“I’m sure the script and the climax must have made her take up the role opposite me. Inevitably, not many heroines come forward to pair up opposite comedians. It’s the prevalent trend in films. I feel honoured to be starring alongside Sheela, who has starred in more than 400 films in South Indian languages. I’m happy to be essaying a character which has got the name made legendary by K. Bhagyaraj, the ‘king of screenplay wirting’, in his super-duper hit film Andha 7 Naatkal.
“I’m sure Bhagyaraj would help in sprucing up the screenplay in PM. I’ve known M.S. Baskar for more than the past couple of decades and am happy that he’s part of the cast. Chandramohan, the director, has done a terrific job and I predict that he will go places in Kollywood in future. I wish the entire crew and cast a grand success,” he concluded.
Among those who spoke included Sonia Aggarwal, Sheela and M.S. Baskar. Earlier, Guruvanna welcomed the gathering at the beginning while Chandramohan thanked at the end of the event, which was compered by director Balu Malarvannan.
