Vishnuvardhan’s appeal to Ajith fans

Ajith Vishnuvardhan

Director Vishnuvardhan has appealed to movie-goers and actor Ajith’s fans not to believe rumours emanating from sections of the press about the actor’s upcoming film. There have been plenty of reports and rumours that have been appearing in the press for quite some time about what would be Ajith’s next film after he completes Billa-2 which is said to be in its last stage of production.

Billa-2 is being directed by Chakri Toleti, who directed the Kamal-starrer Unnaipol Oruvan more than two years back. It was widely expected that Vishnu, who directed Ajith’s Billa in 2007, would also be directing the prequel film Billa-2 but the mantle fell on Toleti as Vishnu was busy with his pre-committed Telugu film project. It is now confirmed that Vishnu would be directing Ajith’s next film after Billa-2.

The process of setting the screenplay of the film is presently underway and nothing has so far been finalized, informs Vishnu even as he scotches the various rumours that are coming out in the press on a daily basis. Both Vishnu and Ajith are expected to put in that extra effort to make their second association as successful (if not more) as their first outing in Billa.

It is also rumoured that actresses and close friends Anushka and Amala Paul would be paired against Ajith in this yet-to-be titled film. It may be noted that both of them haven’t acted opposite Ajith so far. Vishnu, however, doesn’t confirm this and says, “I’m just about preparing the script based on a one-liner narrated by Ajith. Only after the screenplay is finalized would the work on the next phase would start!”

“We’d be free to concentrate in finalizing work on other departments only after the screenplay gets a final shape. As such, I appeal to the fans of Ajith not to be guided by the various rumours doing rounds in the press. I’d also like to assure the fans that their Thala would be seen in a hitherto unseen avatar in the film,” concludes Vishnu.
