Seenu Ramasamy was the cynosure of all eyes when his debut directorial venture ‘Tenkerku Paruvakkatru’ (which released last year) was adjudged as the ‘best regional film’ when the national awards for films were announced a few months back. Lyricist Vairamuthu even likened to Seenu to the great Bharathiraja and predicted that Seenu could well be the next Bharathiraja of Tamil films.
Seenu’s next film has been named ‘Neerparavai’ for which he has roped in Vimal as the hero. Vimal, who debuted in director Pandiraj’s film ‘Pasanga’ more than a couple of years ago, followed it up with last year’s ‘Kalavaani’ which also proved to be a hit film. He, however, couldn’t taste huge success with films like ‘Thoonganagaram’ and ‘Ethan’ so far this year.
Vimal should consider himself to be fortunate to be able to work with an award-winning director quite early in his career. The film would be produced by Michael Rayappan, who produced films like ‘Nadodigal’ and ‘Goripalayam’ in the past. The heroine and other actors are being selected in a phased manner, it is reliably learnt.
After he completes his present assignment titled ‘Vaagai Sooda Vaa’, Vimal would be starting work on Seenu Ramasamy’s ‘Neerparavai’.
