After flooring all with a stupendous performance in his latest film ‘Deiva Thirumagal’, actor Vikram has quietly moved on to his successive projects. The actor’s portrayal of a person with ‘special needs’ in the Vijay-directed ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ moved to tears almost all the audience, especially at the climatic sequence, in what is being described by many as his ‘best performance’ as on date.
The actor, who never shies away from experimenting with various roles, has a couple of projects on hand now. One of them is ‘Rajapattai’ and the other is ‘Karikalan’. While not much is known about the script of ‘Rajapattai’, Karikalan appears to be a period film directed by L.I. Kannan, a special-effects expert, which would go deep into the history of the Chola dynasty which ruled Tamil Nadu for several decades.
In ‘Karikalan’, Vikram would have not just one heroine but a triumvirate of heroines to romance. Zarine Khan, who is popularly known in Bollywood circles as a Katrina Kaif look-alike, would be debuting in Tamil films by playing the lead role in the film. The other heroine would be Radhika Apte, who was seen in Ramgopal Verma’s Suriya-starrer ‘Ratha Sarithiram’ last year.
Mithra Kurian, who played Asin’s friend and who eventually gets married to Vijay in the film ‘Kaavalan’, is the third heroine in the film. Sources say that the shooting of the first schedule of ‘Karikalan’ has already been wrapped up and the crew would soon be starting to shoot for the second schedule.
There are also rumours doing rounds in Kollywood that Vijay might soon start another project with Vikram in the lead!
