Actor Vikram is presently shooting for the twin films Karikaalan and Rajapattai. Incidentally, both the films are billed as commercial films with loads of entertainment factors. Vikram’s last film Deivathirumagal got him rave reviews from the print and television media as well as his fans for the role of a mentally challenged person he played with aplomb in the film.
Deeksha Seth, a sensational beauty from Tollywood, is being paired up opposite Vikram in the film in what would be her debut film in Tamil. The film is being directed by Suseendhiran, who has made films like Vennila Kabadikuzhu and Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai. Vikram’s decision to juggle his career with ‘arty’ films as well as masala-flicks is in tune with a conscious decision he made some time back.
On the eve of the release of Deivathirumagal, Vikram candidly admitted that his own preference was to do more roles like the ones he played in Anniyan and Kandhasamy. “In between, I ought to have releases such as Sethu, Pithamagan and Deivathirumagal as I have to cater to the needs of the artiste in me. Therefore, I do have to intersperse both kinds of films,” Vikram had said at that time.
In Rajapattai, whose shooting has been proceeding briskly with each passing day, Suseendhiran is said to be in talks with a few frontline heroines to dance along with Vikram in a couple of song sequences. This is the first time Susi has got on to the ‘action’ bandwagon. Vikram plays a gym trainer in the film. For the stunt sequences in the film, stuntmen have been specially flown in from Mumbai, it is said. Susi is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the action sequences breathe fire.
