Lyca Productions, who made their controversial debut in Kollywood with Vijay’s Kaththi, is on a buying spree. After acquiring the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights for Naanum Rowdy Thaan and the worldwide rights for Visaaranai, the team is said to be the frontrunner for purchasing the rights for director Bala’s Thaarai Thappattai.
Thaarai Thappattai was wrapped up few days back with only few patchwork scenes pending to be shot. The film, starring Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles, has music composed by Ilaiyaraja.
Thaarai Thappattai is based on form Karagaattam, the traditional dance form of Tamils. The film’s long-in-the-making schedules were partly due to a mishap happened on the sets where Sasikumar fractured his hand.
