Actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth accused the ruling DMK and chief minister M Karunanidhi for troubling the release of his upcoming flick ‘Virudhagiri‘.
Unable to stomach the rise of the DMDK, the ruling DMK and their party men are indulging in various stupid activities to prevent the release of ‘Virudhagiri’, said by Vijayakanth in a DMDK general meeting. The DMDK chief also accused the Chief Minister of playing “petty politics,” despite holding the highest post for five times.
He also added, ““Karunanidhi has used his political might to thrust his entire family on Tamil cinema, and within a short span, they started wielding a virtual hegemony over production and distribution of big-ticket movies”
‘Virudhagiri’ also marks the directorial debut of Vijaykanth, who has been in the industry now for close to three decades. The film is produced under his home banner Captain Cine Creations run by his brother-in-law L.K. Sudheesh. Boopathy is the cinematographer of the film which would witness Vijaykanth doing his most-favorite role of his career, of that of the tough cop.
He has kept some punch dialogues for his fans and his party members sake also. One among is ”Thaniya ninnu aalurathaivida, thaniya ninnu vazhurathuthaanda perumai”.
He is also planning to release the film before the elections to the State Assembly, due in sometime early next year. This would give captain the maximum ‘mileage’ when the electorate goes for voting after watching his film, it is said.
