Vijayakanths popularity due to Rajini’s absence, says Karunas

Karunas rajini 62nd birthday

Comedian Karunas came out with his guns blazing at the speech he delivered at the 62nd birthday celebrations of superstar Rajinikanth held on 13th December. The function was organized by the presidium consisting of various office-bearers of Rajini Fans’ Clubs. Rajini’s birthday, as it fell on 12th, was as usual marked by the star staying away from Chennai. In fact, Rajini had been to Mantralayam on that day to offer special prayers.

Fans numbering many thousands thronged the venue hoping to have a glimpse of their matinee idol. Rajinikanth, however, chose to stay away from the venue of the function apparently in order not to cause traffic snarl. Fans who had come from as far as Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad looked disappointed as their Thalaivar wasn’t present to distribute the various welfare assistance products they had brought along with them.

Among the VIPs present on the dais was Karunas, the leading comedian who is also a qualified music director. Karunas couldn’t digest the absence of none from Rajini’s family on the occasion and didn’t mince words to put the same on record. When he was called on to speak, Karunas said “Such a birthday bash would never be organized for any star in the country….such s the charisma and star-power of Rajini Sir who has more fans than others.

“We all want our Thalaivar to plunge into politics….we don’t know why he (Rajini) hesitates. Everybody knows what Rajini could do in the 1996 elections without sweating much….Nowadays, heroes who have hardly done 2-3 films, claim that they are the next ‘superstar’. Some actor(s) who started their political outfits just a few years back have become the Opposition Leader in the State Assembly,” said Karunas.

Continuing his attack on Vijayakanth directly, Karunas added that “Only because of the ‘void’ left by Rajini that Vijayakanth could become the Opposition Leader….Had Rajini entered politics, the likes of Vijayakanth would have been swept over by this time…All of us would like to assure our Thalaivar that even if he starts his own political outfit now, he’d soon become the ‘permanent chief minister’ of the State,” thundered Karunas.
