Ilayathapathy Vijay plays a milkman (a la Rajinikanth in his ‘Annamalai’) in his upcoming film ‘Velayudham’, it is reported. The shooting of the film, which has the beautiful Genelia De’Souza and the exciting Hansika Motwani opposite him, is said to be almost 80% completed. Chirpy Genelia plays a dynamic journalist while Hansika takes care of the glamour quotient, it is reported. Others in the cast include Saranya Mohan, Pandiarajan and Santhanam.
The film has been directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja, who has given a string of successful movies till ‘Thillalangadi’ starring his younger sibling and actor ‘Jeyam’ Ravi. This will also be Raja’s first film outside his home production and starring a hero other than ‘Jayam’ Ravi in Tamil. Produced by Ascar Ravichandran, the film is likely to be timed to release on the birthday of Vijay, which falls on 22nd June.
It is further said that the film would have romance, comedy, action and sentiment thrown in good measure and would be the ‘ideal’ entertainer of the year.
We earnestly hope that the film does well at the box-office where all Vijay’s films in the past few years have failed badly except ‘Kaavalan’, his latest film which has Asin opposite him.
