Director Vasanthabalan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Aravaan which stars Aadhi and Dhansika in lead roles besides featuring Bharath and Anjali. The film’s script, as already reported, has been set a few centuries back and as such, the costume of the artistes and the backdrop of the shooting spot had to be held in specially erected sets. The audio-launch of the film was held some time back.
The film also marks the debut as music director of noted playback singer Karthik. Produced at a huge budget by T. Siva of Amma Creations, one of the film’s plus points would be its songs, according to Balan. He says that he toiled equally for the songs in the same manner he sweated it out for the perfect backdrop for the script. Balan speaks very highly about the songs in the film.
“The songs would be moving and melodious. They have the power to touch the heart and soul of the listener. I always take it up as a challenge to film such scripts which are not touched by many film-makers for various reasons. The songs have been created as per the mood of the film and as per my and Karthik’s tastes. Karthik, incidentally, is the second music director I’m introducing to Kollywood.
“Songs, according to me, help a lot in narrating the story easily. Only after selecting the suitable lyrics did Karthick set down to score tunes for them. That Karthick happens to be a good friend came in handy while composing the songs. His cooperation in rendering the music of the film has been nothing but great. I’m also thankful to lyricists Muthukumar and Vivegaa for penning the songs according to the mood of the film’s script,” concludes Balan.
