An ardent lover of Tamil, Lyricist Vairamuthu has said the Tamil language needs to be saved from globalisation. Vairamuthu wants the younger generation to come forward to save our mother tongue Tamil and has told that everyone should be educated in their own language Tamil.
The poet said, “It is high time to save our mother tongue, which is ancient, which has rich culture and tradition and the one which can be cherished for all reasons and seasons”.
“The globalisation giant is snatching away the beauty of Tamil. One day, it could completely swallow the language. Tamil should be the medium of instruction in schools all across the State. And Tamils living in other parts of the world should teach the language to their children without fail. If we fail to do so, the future generation would no doubt forget Tamil.”, Vairamuthu added.
