Vadivelu Position After Election

Even as the election trends and results started trickling in, Kollywood circles started discussing about the ‘remote’ possibility of ace comedian Vadivelu getting ‘sidelined’ in future. The comedian, who made his political affiliations known clearly by campaigning for the DMK alliance in the last month’s elections, now feels like the ‘odd man out’ as DMK has been virtually routed by the State’s electorate.

More than anything else, Vadivelu’s tirade and something scathing attack on ‘Captain’ Vijaykanth and his political outfit DMDK, is said to be still fresh in the minds of the actor’s political activists. “It’s time to rake revenge on the comedian,” is said to be the mood prevailing on the minds of the actor-politician’s supporters.

Vadivelu also criticized Rajini’s ‘Rana’ after knowing that he had been shown the exit door from starring alongside the superstar in the film. This irked Rajini’s supporters, who were restrained by the star from reacting to the remarks (Read More). Contrary to Vadivelu’s prediction that Vijaykanth would face ‘rout’ in the elections, the ‘Captain’ has emerged victorious, thereby making the former lose his face.

According to sources, Police security has been beefed up at Vadivelu’s Virugambakkam residence following rumours that he might face attack either from the DMDK volunteers or from some other elements or fellow-comedian Singamuthu’s supports. Incidentally, Singamuthu aligned himself with AIADMK and even campaigned relentless for the combine.
