Director-turned-actor Cheran is back in action. Cheran’s last film ‘Yudham Sei’, directed by Mysskin, turned out to be an average grosser. The film was a thriller where Cheran played a cop who used more of his brains than brawns in solving the cases that came up before him.
Reports say that UTV Motion Pictures has acquired the rights of Cheran’s next film titled ‘Muran’ which co-stars Prasanna, Jayaprakash, Haripriya, Nikhita, Prathap Pothan and others. The film has music by Sajan Madhav and has been penned and directed by Rajan Madhav. ‘Muran’ has been produced by Cheran’s own production house, the Dream Theatres.
Rajan, an erstwhile assistant of Mysskin, has shot almost 70% of the film and the initial talk in the industry is that he has done a good enough job which has impressed the UTV bosses who have decided to acquire the rights of the film. The film is billed as one of the finest action thrillers seen so far in Tamil cinema. UTV might release the film in June after the audio-launch and the post-production work are over.
UTV has also acquired the rights of director Selvaraghavan’s next film ‘Irandaam Ulagam’ which stars Dhanush and Andrea in the lead.
