Playing Jeeva’s mom in director M.Rajesh’s hit comedy venture Siva Manasula Sakthi, actress Urvashi saw some good Kollywood releases coming her way. She then signed up new roles for Kamal’s Manmadhan Ambu and Dhanush’s Venghai, as her characters did justice to her mature screen image till date. Urvashi now feels a need for change.
She will soon star in the role of a college student for a new Mollywood project, titled My Dear Mummy. A source close to the actress says, “When she heard the script, the director had come up with an interesting role for her. She was instantly impressed with the narration and decided to sign for the project, not wasting any time.” Directed by Mahadevan, My Dear Mummy has outlines of a family drama. It will be an emotional tale with necessary comic elements to make things look fresh. Cinematography for the film is handled by Vipin Mohan. Dialogues have been penned by Biju Vattappara, with Deepu Ramanan producing the flick. Urvashi who played mother to a teenager in the hit 2010 release ‘Mummy & Me’ in Malayalam, is hoping to pull of a swapping success with her latest sign up.
When good looking men can play college-going Nanbans, what’s the harm if women too get a bit trendy, right Urvashi?
