The police is on the look-out for a person who impersonated like director Sargunam (of ‘Kalavaani’ fame) and tried to grab a huge sum from aspiring actress who wish to make it big in Kollywood but remain largely unaware of as to whom to approach. After getting to know about this, Sargunam has lodged a complaint at the Pappanadu Police Station coming under Orathanadu Taluk in Thanjavur District.
In his complaint, Sargunam has stated that he had just completed making ‘Vaagai Sooda Vaa’ and hadn’t yet decided about his future project(s). “Someone, imitating my voice, has spoken to a few persons saying that my next film would be starring 3 heroines and that if he is paid Rs.50,000, he would give them the offer to play the heroine in the film.
“Another actress has been asked to deposit Rs.34,000 to get the chance to star in the film. This guy, who had spoken in my voice, had tried to dupe them using my name. I would like the police to take immediate action and arrest the culprit,” the complaint lodged by Sargunam says.
Duping noted directors and actors isn’t something that was not existent in Kollywood. A few months back, a person tried to dupe aspiring actresses by speaking to them in the voice of actor-director-producer Sasikumar. It is believed by the police that the same person could be involved in the Sargunam case too.
