Actor Jiiva is hardly ruffled by the negative press he got in the aftermath of the release of his Mugamoodi a few weeks back. Billed as Kollywood’s first-ever ‘superman movie’, Mugamoodi has been directed by Mysskin and has Bangalore-based model and hottie Pooja Hegde pairing up opposite Jiiva.
The film opened to mixed responses all over the State elsewhere. Notwithstanding the criticism in various print media about his role in the film in particular and the film in general, Jiiva comes across as a happy guy. “I and the entire crew of Mugamoodi are mighty happy indeed. Reports reaching us say that none of the distributors are unhappy with the film’s showing in theatres, which matters the most,” Jiiva says.
“Criticisms are always welcome and they only serve to make the concerned deliver better in future. At the same time, it’s always not possible to satisfy the needs of various kinds of fans. At the most, an artiste can satisfy 70% of his fans through a particular film of his. Obviously, the rest won’t be happy at all and would hurl criticisms. It’s part and parcel of the entertainment industry.
“In my upcoming film, I shall ensure that even my critics are made to feel at ease after watching me. There is not even an iota of truth in reports that Mysskin and I have some misunderstandings; we are sharing a perfect rapport. I’m now awaiting with extreme excitement the release of my upcoming film Neethane En Ponvasantham which has music by Maestro Ilaiyaraaa and has been directed by Gautham Menon.
“I hope the film becomes as big a hit as its songs; if not, it ought to get even better, hopefully,” concludes Jiiva.
