Actress Shweta Basu has starred in the lead role in the Telugu hit film Kotha Bangaru Lokam which had a decent run at the box-office. The Bengali beauty, who has starred in many Hindi films as a child artiste, is all set to make her debut in Tamil films as heroine with a film titled Mye.
Vishnupriyan, who trained rigorously at Koothupattarai, debuts as hero in Mye opposite the stunning-looking Shweta. Though new to Tamil films, Vishnupriyan has played a significant role in award-winning Malayalam director Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s film titled Nizhal Koothu, thereby undergoing ‘baptism by fire’ under the watchful eyes of the veteran director.
As per the script, Vishnupriyan’s character in the film is shown to be continuously chasing Shweta to befriend her and fall in love with her. The rest of the story is about whether his attempts succeeded or not and what effect those ‘efforts’ would have in his future.
Mye, which is a story about the commoners, has been narrated in an impressive manner to appeal to al kinds of audience.
