Tollywood’s Gopichand to debut in Tamil opposite Nayanthara

Gopichand Nayantara

Popular Tollywood hero Gopichand is all set to make his debut in Tamil as hero. In fact, Gopichand’s face is not new to Tamil audience. Remember the menacing villain who bashes up ‘Jayam’ Ravi in his debut film Jayam before getting it back from Ravi? Yes, villain of Jayam is presently one of the popular Telugu heroes and he has starred opposite the likes of Trisha, Anushka and Tapasee.

Gopichand comes to Tamil at a time when many Kollywood heroes are trying to do at least one film in Telugu. The film which is to launch Gopichand in the lead role in Tamil is to be produced by Jayabalaji Real Media (P) Ltd. and would be directed by Boopathy Pandian, who has made successful films such as Dhaush-starrers Devadhaiyai Kandaen and Tiruvilaiyadal and the Vishal-starrer Malaikkottai.

Nayanthara, who is feeling her way into films after making a comeback a month or so ago, has been cast as the heroine opposite Gopichand in this film which remains to be titled. Bollywood’s Ashutosh Rana, who debuted in Tamil films by playing villain in Lingusamy’s Madhavan-Aarya starrer Vettai, would continue his villainic ways in the Gopichand-Nayanthara starrer too. The two haven’t been paired up in any film earlier.

Sakshi Saravanan would be the cinematographer of the film whose shooting schedule is expected to be launched from Chennai in the first/second week of April. After that, the crew would move on to Kerala, Mysore and Mangalore before flying off to countries like Egypt, Turkey and the People’s Republic of China. Pandian would be directing the film besides penning the story, screenplay and the dialogues too.
