Director Thangar Bachchan has named his next film as ‘Tholaindhu Ponavargal’ (TP), even as he is yet to wrap up his ‘Kalavaadiya Pozhudhugal’ (KP), which has been in the making for quite some time now. KP has an interesting star-cast in Prahudeva and Bhumika Chawla, both of whom would be playing lead roles in a film after a considerable gap.
Said to be close to the ruling AIADMK alliance, Thangar’s TP is likely to narrate the tale of the Sri Lankan Tamils who are forced to seek refuge in countries other than their own after losing their near and dear ones. Knowing Thangar’s appetite to present things as it is (remember ‘Azhagi’, where he had depicted the poverty in a realistic manner?), the film might rake up some controversies, it is feared in Kollywood.
Thangar is said to have met director-actor Seeman and asked him to be part of TP. The film is likely to feature some sequences showing a few leaders addressing public meetings. Thangar’s idea was reportedly to show Vaiko, Kolathur Mani and Seeman as the speakers. Seeman, however, told Thangar not to make the film look like a ‘documentary’ and urged him to make it look as realistic as possible.
Agreeing to Seeman’s views and suggestions, Thangar has reportedly gone back to his writing table to make the necessary modifications in the script.
