The film Rajapattai will be actor Vikram’s next film after Deiva Thirumagal. The actor reached dizzying heights with his portrayal of a mentally challenged person in the film which has been doing fairly well in almost all the centres. In order to get back into a normal mode after playing such a difficult character on-screen, Vikram has decided to get ‘commercial’. Karikalan would be his other film which would see him starring opposite three heroines.
Rajapattai is directed by Suseendhiran who debuted as director with Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu more than two years back. The director, who has an eye for details and a creative mind, also made films like Kullanarikoottam and Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai. It is now reported that the production rights of the film have been taken over by Prasad V. Potluri, a popular name on the Tollywood film circuit.
Stunning Deeksha Seth, a popular name in Tollywood, is making her debut in Tamil films with Rajapattai opposite Vikram. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has formed a successful combination with many young directors of the present generation. The film was first launched by producer Ramesh Babu under his banner of Kanagadhara Films.
After Ramesh was caught in some legal tangle and financial difficulties, the film has now been taken over by BVP Cinemas owned by Potluri. The budget of the film is tentatively put at Rs.39 crores, which is expected to go up by a few crores as the film progresses.
