Tamannaah has been away from Tamil screens for quite some time now. The actress’ last Tamil film was Hari’s Venghai opposite Dhanush which released as many as 8 months back. Ever since, Tamannaah has been busy with her Telugu projects opposite leading heroes. This led to her die-hard fans craving and yearning for her ‘return’ to Tamil films at the earliest possible instance.
It is said that Tammu demanded a whopping Rs.1.10 crore as her fee when approached by Kamal for his in-the-making Viswaroopam. Kamal obviously looked the other way round and after experimenting with as many heroines as possible, he finally zeroed in on U.S.-based Pooja Kumar. The matter spread like wildfire in Kollywood and producers chose to remain at a ‘safe distance’ from Tammu as they knew they won’t be able to afford her fee.
It is also said that Tammu was Lingusamy’s first choice as Aarya’s heroine in Vettai but he had to fall back on Amala due to the fee issue. Tamannaah, who starred in last year’s super-successful Siruthai opposite Karthi, is coming back to Tamil in a bilingual film which is being made in Tamil and Telugu.
The film, which pairs Tammu opposite Ram, has been titled as Kaadhal Enbaen in Tamil. Karunakaran, who had directed a flick known as Anandamazhai, is the director of the film which is being shot simultaneously in both the languages. Tamannaah is hopeful that her fan base is intact in Tamil and that they would continue to patronize her as they have always done!
