Tabu is quite choosy with her roles and surely luck has always been on her side as she doesn’t face a dearth of opportunities. Reportedly, she will showcase her mettle internationally yet again in an upcoming Hollywood flick.
The flick ‘Life of Pi’ is being directed by Oscar award winner Ang Lee who is credited with block busters such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. It would come as no surprise to the fans as Tabu would be playing the female lead in the movie, based on a novel written by Yann Martel. The novel received a Booker Prize and is also a recipient of numerous international awards.
Tabu plays the mother of an Indian boy Piscine Molitor ‘Pi’ Patel from Pondicherry who is marooned in an island for 227 days fighting for his life surviving a Bengal tiger ready to devour him any time!
The movie is scheduled to start shooting by January, 2011 and is to be shot in India and Taiwan.
Hope the actress will again spread the good name of South Indian cinema to a wider audience.
