She is just one-film old but has earned more number of fans than many established actresses. Such is the craze among the public for Tapasee Pannu, who debuted in ‘Aadukalam‘ opposite Dhanush in the role of an Anglo-Indian girl. That the film bagged 3 national awards in various categories has also raised Tapasee’s stakes in Kollywood.
Her next film would be ‘Vanthaan Vendraan’ opposite Jiiva. The film is being directed by R. Kannan, who has earlier made films like ‘Jeyam Kondan‘ and ‘Kandein Kaadhalai’. For her role in ‘VV’, Tapasee is said to have undergone some rigorous work-outs to shed those extra flab aroundher waist. “You’d definitely find me slimmer in the film,” says the actress with a flooring smile.
She plays an architect in the film. “Though my role required me to look slim, the constant shuttling and travelling for the shooting schedules which took me to Maharashtra, Kerala, Puducherry and Goa along with the crew has also contributed to the slim look,” adds Tapasee.
“I play a significant role in the film. Unlike usual commercial films which don’t have much scope for the heroine, my role in VV is quite different. Full credit to director Kannan for having ensured that my role is an integral part of the script in the ultimate analysis.
“Jiiva is very friendly as a co-star and has helped me in portraying my role to perfection. We had a lovely time during the shoot,” concludes Tapasee.
