It may be recalled that the technical excellence that marked the making of superstar Rajinikanth’s Enthiran: The Robot was widely appreciated by the media, public and the star’s fans. It was hailed as a film which had taken Tamil cinema to the ‘next level’ vis-à-vis the state-of-the-art technical inputs and the computer-generated graphics which stunned the viewers especially during the climax sequence.
These computer-generated graphics were handled by Stan Winston Studios, one of Hollywood’s famous robotronics companies. It was revealed at the time of release of Enthiran that these graphic sequences alone cost the producer a cool Rs.30 crores!
Suriya’s upcoming film 7aam Arivu follows suit and goes the Rajini way. The graphic sequences in this film (which transcends time dramatically) have also been done at the same Winston Studios at am estimated cost of Rs.10 crores. The film marks the debut as heroine of Shruti Haasan, the pretty daughter of Kamal Haasan, in Kollywood.
Produced by Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant Movies, the film’s audio launch is slated to be held on the 22nd of this month at the Chennai Trade Centre complex in Nandambakkam in Chennai. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the director who gave Suriya one of the biggest hits of his career in Ghajini, the film has Suriya playing the triple roles of a scientist, a Buddhist Monk and a circus artiste.
