Sun TV beats other channels to bag Ajith’s Billa-2

As it always happens, media baron Sun Network has emerged triumphant when it comes to bagging new, upcoming films starring big stars. Sun TV has again proved its might as it has just landed up in its kitty the satellite broadcasting rights of actor Ajith’s upcoming film Billa-2.

Ajith has been paired opposite beauty queen Parvathy Omanakuttan, a sizzler from the neighbouring Kerala, in Billa-2. As widely reported earlier, though Billa-2 is a sequel to the film Billa which released in 2007 and became one of Ajith’s biggest hits, it’s script won’t be a continuation of the earlier film.

Vishnuvardhan directed Billa but couldn’t work in the sequel as he was busy with his Telugu film commitments. Chakri Toleti, who directed Kamal Haasan inUnnaipol Oruvan, has directed Billa-2 which has been creating news almost on a daily basis. The excitement and expectation amid Ajith’s fans is only on the rise as the actor gears up for the theatrical release of the film.

Sun TV has acquired the film for Rs.6.5 crore, it is said. It’s also the first time that the satellite broadcasting rights of an Ajith-starrer has been sold for such a huge price. Many firms are said to be vying to acquire the release rights of the film in foreign countries. Who is the lucky agency would be known in a day or two.
