The audio-launch of the film Oru Nadigaiyin Vakkumoolam (ONV) which has Sonia Aggarwal playing the lead role was held in the city yesterday. The film is touted as the ‘untold story’ of actresses we admire, adore and love on-screen. Sonia, who has been attempting a comeback in Tamil films post her marriage and subsequent divorce from Selvaraghavan, is the heroine of the film.
She plays an actress in the film which is directed by Rajkrishna and produced by ‘Punnagai Poo’ Geetha. The audio launch was held at the premises of Prasad Laboratories where S.A. Chandrasekaran, president of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council, released the audio-cassettes and CDs of the film.
Sonia’s speech turned out to be the highlight of the evening. In her speech, she said “An actress’ life is like that of any other mortal: it’s full of happiness, disappointments, pleasure, secrets and surprises. In particular, an actress’ life contains many secrets than others. In my own life too, there are many ‘untold’ secrets about which I’m determined not to reveal at any time in my life.
“Just because I happen to be an actress, more attention is paid to what happens in my personal life. The script of ONV has nothing to do with my life; though the script is based on an actress’ life, it doesn’t narrate the events of my life. Many of us are curious and inquisitive to know what happens in an actress’ life. Even I too had the same. The film has created a great expectation in my mind and I’m sure it’d court with huge success at the box-office.
“Making a comeback wasn’t so easy; in fact, during the first few days of the shoot, I felt like a newcomer. Only because of the encouragement and cooperation from the crew and the director, I was put at ease,” said Sonia, who debuted way back in 2002 as heroine in Kaadhal Kondein opposite Dhanush.
