Sivakumar himself revealed by at a recent music concert in Chennai, which was organised by a Tamil monthly and a popular music troupe to commemorate the 93rd birth anniversary of the former Chief Minister. “I gifted Karthi a book on MGR because the Makkal Thilakam was an example to all. Everyone should follow the way the matinee idol led his life in a simple way despite all the power, fame and wealth he had,” Sivakumar said.
Heaping more laurels on MGR, Sivakumar said, “I had acted with him in two films- ‘Kavalkaran’ and ‘Idhayaveenai’. I learnt a lot from him during the shooting of those movies. I wanted Karthi too to follow the footsteps of the Puratchi Thailaivar.”
Going down the memory lane, the actor said, “MGR helped the needy a lot even at the time when he was a struggling actor. He never bothered about being hungry. All that he wanted was others should eat well.”
