Acted in films like Marina and 3, television anchor-turned-actor Sivakartikeyan has been slowly but steadily climbing up the ladder to attain stardom in films. The chatty Sivakarthi was the find of Vijay TV which has made use of his anchoring and mimicking abilities in many of its programmes over the years. The popularity attained through these reality television shows helped Siva gain an entry into films through the national award-winnning director Pandiraj’s Marina a couple of months ago.
Siva then followed it up with the Dhanush-Shruti Haasan starrer 3 where he played a brief yet powerful role. These two films have made him quite a popular name in filmy circles. He has also been playing the lead role in director Ezhil’s upcoming film titled Manam Kothi Paravai (MKP) opposite newcomer Aathmiya. The audio launch of the film was held in the city a couple of days back.
Ezhil, who has directed the likes of Vijay, Ajith and ‘Jayam’ Ravi in Thulladha Manamum Thullum, Raja and Deepavali respectively in that order, is making a ‘comeback’ to films after a gap of five years. Known for his family-entertainers, Ezhil hopes to make it count with MKP. The film is jointly produced by the trio of Ambedkumar, Ranjeev Menon and Ezhil himself.
The audio-launch witnessed a huge turn-out of celebrities in the form of directors K. Bhagyaraj, K.S. Ravikumar, Samuthirakkani, Cheran, Karu Pazhaniyappan and Singampuli, lyricist Yugabarathy, MKP’s music director D. Iman, actor ‘Jayam’ Ravi, editor Gopi anx cinematographer Suraj Nallusamy besides the film’s lead pair of Siva and newcomer Aathmiya.
