Simbu-Trisha’s Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya, which released last year, was one of the super-duper hits of the year and was appreciated by many as the ‘ideal’ love story. Simbu, who had only been categorized as an actor who would do ‘magic’ with fingers, came to be noticed seriously as an actor who had the wherewithal in him to take up any kind of role(s).
Simbu and Trisha had earlier come together for Alai a few years back. The film was a total flop and therefore they didn’t come together for any other film till Menon cast them in VTV. Rahman’s music contributed in no small measure to the film’s success. Simbu and Trisha have now gone on record saying that they would surely consider another offer to come together on-screen for a new project.
Though he didn’t divulge any details as to whether there was an offer from any producer or director to bring them together for a new project, Simbu has said “It’s always an enjoyable experience to pair up opposite Trisha; in fact, we have been buddies for a long time now. I’d sure love to lap up any such opportunity.”
